Heading back to my "home" in Dubai- the Burj al Arab and why it is the world's greatest hotel

“Travel is like love, mostly because it’s a heightened state of awareness, in which we are mindful, receptive, undimmed by familiarity and ready to be transformed. That is why the best trips, like the best love affairs, never really end.” — Pico Iyer

Tomorrow I will be leaving the Al Liwa desert and heading back to my home in Dubai- the Burj al Arab. And whenever you can refer to a hotel as your "home" you know that they are doing something very right. This is precisely why the Burj has been and still is the "world's greatest hotel" with a level of service that really has to be experienced to be believed. For we all know that there is no such thing as perfection and things will always go wrong (we are all humans). However, the Burj stands out in knowing how to resolve something when it goes wrong (and at the Burj things do not go wrong very much!).

The Burj has a top-notch group of hotel executives including Mr. Ahmed Ereiba (Director of Rooms) and Ms. Stephanie Zawada (Operations Manager for Butler Services) who map out the strategy of ultra-luxury service and other employees such as Steven (a Team Leader of Butler Services) who implement this strategy which results in a 7 star experience. And when my nine year old daughter Ashley tells me, "I like the desert but I want to go back to my "home" in Dubai", you know that she too has been hypnotized by the Burj and that they are doing something very very right!
